Hi there can someone help to modify this STL file? I need that the rectangular hole on the bottom becomes an 8 mm round hole. I have no idea how do it keeping a nice shape.
costole.3mf (7,8 MB)
Aahahahahah OMG my Jelly brain, the hole should be 8.4mm, rename to .stl
Belly.3mf (2,6 MB)
I am assuming you mean this hole.
That cut out has taken away part of the model that cannot be recreated as it was without the source model.
The new hole is smaller than the existing one.
Yes is this one, so there is no chance to do it ?
You wanted to have a hole instead of the rectangle and the shape to look as if the rectangle wasn’t there before.
So, no.
You could fill in the rectangle, but that wouldn’t make it look like the original bones. With the hole going into the plug.
If you don’t mind it looking like a flat rectangle, add a primitive and then the negative cylinder.
It can be done but is a slightly more complex topic. There’s an Autodesk program that’s free but now unsupported called MeshMixer. It lets you edit and sculpt meshes in stl files where you could heal those holes and create the new smaller ones.
You can do some of that in Studio with modifiers but it wouldn’t be straightforward. I’m sure there are other programs that let you edit meshes. Fusion now does.
But since the original holes are bigger, are they big enough where you could print adapter sleeves where mesh editing wasn’t required? So far I’ve not found a good precise way to edit meshes. So far it’s more trial and error for me when trying to locate features precisely.
You can get it pretty close with a mesh boolean of a rectangle and a 8.4mm hole. Oh and the original model had to be repaired.
Belly with 8.4mm hole.3mf (985.7 KB)
STL (rename)
Belly_8.4mm.3mf (2.9 MB)
Oh thank you very much for your effort.
In the meantime I spent some time to modify but the results are not so good ahahahah
Ren to .stl
