[Help] Issues with Printing Large PETG Translucent Lampshade on Bambu Lab P2S

Hello, I am an interior designer currently working on a lampshade project using a Bambu Lab P2S.

I have attempted to print the same model twice, but encountered different types of print failures both times. I am seeking advice on the potential causes of these errors.

I have attached the 3MF file and photos of the results for your review.

[1. Setup & Materials]

  • Printer: Bambu Lab P2S (with AMS 2 pro)
  • Filament: PETG Translucent
  • Machine Condition: Purchased in January this year; no specific maintenance (cleaning, re-greasing, etc.) has been performed since.
  • Settings: Please refer to the attached 3MF file for detailed slicer settings.

[2. Symptoms] (Two attempts of the same model)
Although the models are identical (except for being mirrored), they exhibited different failure patterns:

  • Model A: The print failed completely from the mid-section as the layers stopped adhering/extruding properly.
  • Model B: There was a significant layer shift at the bottom, but the printer managed to recover and finish the rest of the model.

[3. My Hypotheses]
Hypothesis 1: Height Issues (250mm)

  • The model height is 250mm, which is very close to the maximum build volume (256mm). I suspected stability issues, but Model B finished despite the height, and the errors occurred at the bottom/middle sections.

Hypothesis 2: Lack of Supports

  • I enabled the “Auto-generate Support” option in Bambu Studio, but no supports were actually generated in the sliced result. I am wondering if the lack of supports in specific areas might be causing these failures.

Hypothesis 3: Lack of Maintenance

  • Since I haven’t performed any maintenance since January, I suspect that debris or lack of lubrication on the Z-axis lead screws might be causing irregular movement at certain heights.

I would greatly appreciate any insights on my slicing settings or potential hardware issues. This is a crucial piece for my design project, and I am eager to get it printed successfully.
