Figured I would start a post since I can now. I am having an issue with my left joystick. As people may have seen in other posts, I have tried everything I can think of to get these working.
The problem… I bought the 2 pack for building the soccer bots. The prints went well, the bot assembly was good and same with the remotes. The syncing worked, yet as soon as they sync, the tracks start turning… both of them. The left joystick (which is supposed to control the forward and backward) doesn’t do anything at all and the tracks keep spinning. The right joystick will turn the bot. If I push the joystick to the left, the left track will stop and the right track will keep moving, essentially turning the bot left. If I push right, the opposite happens.
I have changed the batteries, charged the battery in the bot, re synced and yet nothing works. I have changed chips and uploaded the files again and still nothing. The left joystick seems to be dead.

I do have a rocker switch. I have tried it all the positions and still nothing.
I saw there was a github somewhere, may have to try that if I can find it. However, I am not well versed in that, but at this point, I can’t screw it up too much more?
I think its the board housing. So, my reasoning, the button works… this turns the lights on and off. I switched joysticks for the side that I know works to the side that didn’t work. Still nothing. The rocker switch is on the same side as the non working joystick. And to have both of the controllers with the same issue, I have to really think that I received a bad batch of boards. It happens for sure.
On the Cyberbrick app it shows what projects the receivers and transmitters are synced to. Did you check what project they are synced? Each project has its own files that it’s need to be sync from the Cyberbrick app.
Also you mentioned you swapped the joystick and still see the problem. Have you try swapping the controller core with the transmitter core all together. Or maybe sync another project to see if this is a firmware issue. It’s not always the hardware.
Yes. I made sure it was the soccer bots that I was syncing. I also tried some other ones with the same results. I am about to get my multimeter out and test the terminals on both sides to see what readings I get. I suspect that I do not have power on the left side of the board. Probably not the chip as that worked in both bots, but the board it sits on. I will let you know the results.
Fixed. I read in another post to swap the joysticks to the other side. Not sure why that worked, but it did. Both bots work great and now im on to the forklift.
My best guess is that you just had a bad connection somewhere on the line and by replugging them, this got fixed. Had the same issue myself couple of weeks ago with one axes of one of the dual axis joystick modules.
