Help: Removing "transition" layers

Hello,

I’ve been having this problem for a while, and I don’t know if it’s possible to fix or not. I couldn’t find the right way to ask this question, so maybe there’s already a fix on this forum, if not, here it goes.

Using Fusion/Blender to create models, I extrude some parts to make a design, in this case, it’s a Rune. When printing, it creates some “transition” layers that kind of predicts the design it will have on the next layers. This is a problem because when printing, the nozzle jumps from one part to another, leaving visible lines on the surface.

Used ironing which didn’t help. But even without ironing the layers still show. Filament is calibrated, bed is leveled and it happens both on my P1S and A1.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

What I wanted is, for the slicer not to predict the next layers design and just fill it all instead of leaving the “shadow” of the prediction behind. Just print the layer fully and the next layer print the design on top of it instead of leaving a “gap” or a “shadow” if it makes sense.



Hi, I managed to do it on another slicer by spliting the model with the cutting tool at the height of the rune and print it as 2 different models on top of each other, but couldn’t manage to do it on Bambu Studio as the part cannot be lifted from the plate … Also I did not find any option to make it work.

I found a solution but it’s not a pretty one. You have to create 2 models in your CAD software. One as the base without rune and the second one with the bottom portion of the base and a floating rune. (you have to remove material below the rune contact point)

Then, place the 2 models on top of each other in Bambu Studio, color the rune and voilà ! You get a smooth top surface.

Hey! Thank you for your answer, I tried doing that as well and saw that I can do it if I add a Part and put the rune a little bit “floating” on top of the bottom part. I haven’t tried yet I’m afraid it will fail/not stick since it’s treated as a floating region. Which slicer did you use?

You managed to place the part floating ? The part always fall back to the plate when I set the Z height, maube I missed something.

I did similar things with assembled models, if there is not gap in the slicer it should work.

I tried in ideamaker, the slicer for Raise3D.
