Look like high flow hot ends in 0.6 and 0.8 are coming soon:
I’m a bit confused about the purpose of a HF hotend…
Others have posted Studio does not show any time difference using non-HF and HF hotends. If true, what would be a reason or purpose for using a HF hotend?
I think its a bug, on large items with long lines it should be faster. Also even if you print at the same speed, the parts will be much stronger due to better layer adhesion. I print at regular speed most of the time but have high flow E3D hot ends for the better strength.
Thanks for the video and explanation.
Just hijacking here, I am a bit lost with my two HiFlow nozzles. The slicer doesnt appear to reduce the print time and the help section is a bit sparse on details (other than you can buy them).
Is it likely that the profiles just don’t exist yet, or is there a described way to use them?
So i played around with the slicer a bit and the “high flow” option changes one thing, the infill speed. You will get faster speed with large items with lots of infill, or you can make a custom profile and bump the other speeds a bit. Keep in mind you will only see the faster speed on “standard” profiles, if you use “balanced” or 0.12mm and below layer height, the speeds are limited in the profile. Also as i mentioned above, you will get better layer adhesion and part strength with high flow hot end.
Thank you for the information. That’s cleared up my understanding of the situation!
