Homing the build plate for Filament drying is dangerous!

There’s nothing about the speed of my X1C that’s ludicrous. What’s ludicrous is that whenever I want to use the filament drying function, I have to be sure to wait until preparation is complete to place the filament because the build plate is moved to home position whenever I initialize the drying. The build plate should only be moved to the drying location when filament drying is used, so this ridiculous working order requirement can be dropped, and I can leave filament in place to dry again without risking damage to my 3D printer.

A better option is to use a proper dryer—drying on the build plate is, to put it mildly, far from ideal. Consider an AMS HT or AMS 2 Pro, or better yet a dedicated forced-air drying oven. With a unit like this, you can both dry and cure your prints to perfection: https://www.amazon.se/gp/product/B0C2D2X1SH/ref=ox_sc_act_title_10?smid=AV56G48FXQLMH&th=1
