So I’ve been on MakerWorld a little over a year, and I’ve uploaded 45 models currently (I’ve taken several down recently because I’m selling them and they keep getting stolen by other Etsy sellers) but other than the oddball rude comment from people who forget they’re reviewing a print profile made by a human and not cussing off a cliff, the atmosphere on MakerWorld is pretty chill, people helping each other mostly, questions, answers, tips, tricks, I like it. Whenever someone posts a new print profile, I’m delighted, it usually means more downloads for me lol, but also means someone found a way to improve upon my work, and I want to learn. But a handful of times, (3 in total) someone has posted what I can only describe as “hostile” print profile descriptions. The last two I reported and had removed after asking the uploaders to update them, the first never replied so I reported and it was removed, the second the person was indignant and rude so I screenshotted the DM and MW removed that profile as well. This one isn’t as bad but I’m just flabbergasted by the sentiment here.
Let’s not pretend - unless the uploader clicks ‘give all points to original designer’ they want the points for themselves, so whenever someone uploads a new print profile, it behooves all of us to act with a little decorum, tact, and general gratitude along with the excitement of our own profile improving upon the original. But the snarky abject absolute conclusions expressed and disdain in this description just feels rude to me.
