Hello I’m new to printing ant new to the board. My P1s was making noins as I walked away from the printer I really didnt pay much attention to it. when I came back the filament was coming out un heated and of corse not sticking. i cut it off unloaded the filament (Bambu Labs Basic PLA) Reloaded the Filament and noticed it was not melted, Help Please.

First, welcome to the forum.

Second, I am a little confused on what you mean when you say “the filament was coming out unheated”, because for it to be able to extrude the plastic has to be melted.

Can you describe the noise that the printer was making? I assume this happened mid print?

The filament only melts in the last 10 or so mm of the nozzle, so when you unload it, you will not see the melted part.

Third, you said the filament was not sticking? Was this on first layer or partially through the print.

My best guess is that you have a jam in your extruder gears. Usually when there are heating issues, you will get an error, so I am not leaning towards this being a heating issue.

Also, as the quoted message says, pictures are great for troubleshooting. Consider adding some to your original post.

Thank for your help. the filament was being extruded looking the same thickness and consistency as when it when it came off the spool. the print was VERY bumpy it was failed. The noise was like a car going down a bumpy road.

Do me a favor and attach a picture of your nozzle

I assume you are running 0.4mm? Is this a Bambu offical nozzle?

The only time I have ever seen it come out the same thickness as when it went in was when the nozzle has either fallen off or broken. The tips are press fit, so it is possible (yet very rare) that they would come out.

This would also explain the lack of melting.

@user_3553290817 You you be willing to make this thread as having a solution?

For the noise issue, attaching the pads sold by Bambu Lab makes a big difference!

sure I would think it is solved

Not sure what pads your mentioning would you enlighten me?

On the Bambu Lab site where I placed my order, it was listed under the name “Bambu Lab Vibrating Foot Vibration Attenuation Parts (P1, X1 Series).”
