Hotend Electrical Connector Question

I bought a hotend at Microcenter last week and just now opened the box. I would note that the box was the standard unbleached paperboard box Bambu Labs uses and every small part I have ever purchased directly from the BL Store has come in the exact same box.

When I opened the box, this is what I got. It is a .8mm hotend although the size does not matter.

Seems like I have seen some old pictures in the wiki that used this connector style but I have had my P1S since July 2024 and both my DOA and replacement P1S had a different connector. The type that give people problems.

This hotend also seems brand new in that the white thermal paste was still semi-liquid rather than dry.

My question is, is this an old BL part or a knockoff? I see parts on Amazon by other sellers than BL but shown in BL packaging. I intend to reach out to Microcenter about this for sure but would be interested in what forum folks think.

Well, shame on me. They should better mark that. I have the ceramic heater and thermistor for my P1S so I can replace the two parts IF it will fit into the bottom of the extruder which I have not checked yet.

Yes the physical hotend is the same between the two printer models. FYI There should of been a spare naked hotend shipped in your parts kit with the printer.

I don’t lack for hotends. This was a .8mm that I wanted to use on the 85 TPU I bought a while back. I had seen that a .4mm hotend was okay to use on a wiki page but after really struggling with that .4mm nozzle I subsequently found a wiki page saying no to the .4mm. That wiki page said I needed a .6 and/or .8 to work effectively with the 85 TPU.

I just ordered some thermistor/heater sets and fans yesterday to assemble two .8mm and two .6mm hotends and when they get here I will take another crack at TPU.

It seems like having your manual (non-AMS)TPU feed set up properly is way more important than with the other types of filaments.

This is just an academic question right now because I want to try and get some simple TPU projects under my belt first but how long does it take to print the various shoes I see in pictures?
