There are daily upload of models that people are stealing, and uploading in their own name to gain points… if you can upload a benchy for the 1 millionth time the rules seems to be a bit to loose.
I almost daily report some uploader, and most of the time Bambu removes the model after a couple of hours…
My suggestions for how it should be handled:
Do not let new users upload models, make them wait until they have used the platform for a week or two…
When uploading a model, don’t just grant the upload within minutes, do some checking, if I can just paste the url of the picture in google lens and find the original within 2 minutes, surely this must be possible to automate in this AI driven world?
When you remove a model, make sure the user knows why, so he doesn’t repeat himself, maybe not punish the first time, but if it repeats, remove point, and if not bettered temp ban/ban user.
Perhaps reward when someone reports a stolen model correctly with makerworld points.
Thanks for these advice. We encourage you to report any models you see unfit on MakerWorld and we will handle the situation as best as we can. Points 3 and 4 are great points that we will considering these approaches moving forward.
