The only way I found is to create a custom profile in Bambu Studio and then from the device settings tab (LAN mode) set it to the printer.
Ok, so based on what your saying. If you walk to your printer, tap the screen, select filament, you can select that new custom filament from the touch screen on your Bambu A1/A1 Mini?
No, you can’t. Filaments in the printer UI are the same as before, but still you can force it to set up another type via Bambu Studio. I could be wrong here, but I don’t think it’s a big deal at all. All the important stuff related to the filament are inside your project/gcode file and are set during the slicing.
I really hope Bambu adds this to the A1 so I can pick the right filament instead of alway picking generic PLA.
I think I know what he means as I have what I think is a similar problem.
On the A1 printer itself, you can choose the manufacturer (eg eSun) then the type (PLA+ is the only option) then choose closest colour.
My question is under “Dynamic Pressure Control” there’s 4 options - Default, eSUN PLA+, eSUN PLA+_1, eSUN PLA+_2, and eSUN PLA+_3.
What are the differences? The manual that came with it doesn’t cover it.
This is just linear advance pressure calibration or flow dynamics as bambu calls it. For non flexible pla it shouldnt matter default will work fine. But you could potentially get slightly better results running a calibration which saves the value specific to your filament. That is what you are seeing with the 1 2 3 options. Your question isn’t really related to the thread as it is already a supported feature. We want the A1 series to support custom filaments from other brands like sunlu on the printer’s own ams menu to save a lot of annoyance when using the slicer.
Who is “you” because anyone can want to calibrate the filament to a certain printer…
I personally have been able to calibrate many filaments to my a1 (not mini) printer.
