How do I get Polymaker Fiberon PPS-CF into my H2D list of filaments?

Hi

How do I get Polymaker Fiberon PPS-CF into my H2D list of filaments?

It’s got both Bamby PPS-CF and Generic PPS-CF.
It also got several Polymaker filaments and one listed as Fiberon, but no PPS-CF.

So how do I add the Polymaker Fiberon PPS-CF filament to the list of filaments in my H2D, so I can store it the proper settings and use it properly from Bambu studio?

You can just add it as a custom material.
Polymaker has the filament settings. I took an existing PC profile and modified it for the Sunlu PC-ABS and just saved it as a custom filament.
Same for PET-GF15 etc.

Do I add it as a custom material on the printer display, or do I upload it to the printer from Bambu Studio?

Studio. Create a custom filament profile.

Yeah, but that doesn’t get it into the H2D. Or, if it does, how?

I don’t think you can add it in the printer, but when you select Generic or Bambu PPS-CF in the printer, and use your Custom profile in BS. you just assign the correct filament source when you print from BS.

Which is what I am doing.

I am getting the impression this whole supercomplicated labyrinth of filament handling in the Bambu ecosystem is just a cumbersum window-dressing that adds frustration only, requiring workarounds without adding any useful functions and certainly doesn’t make anything easier.

It seems to me they have severely overcomplicated things on this topic, to a level where even the simplest things doesn’t even work.

I mean, it ought to be the simplest thing to just import a new profile, it pops up as a new filament in the list in both Studio and the Printer (after a Sync) and then you can select it in your projects. That’s it. How hard can it be? Bambu really need to re-work this part thoroughly. IMO. :slight_smile:

I just learned that when you are going into BS and at the bottom of your Filaments list and select “Add/Remove filaments”, you can add your custom filaments.

Once created and added in the project, a sync brings that new filament into the printer.

You can then select that new filament brand and type from the list in the printer.
