I have a sign design. It has generic text but all sign differ in a brand name. In total there are 65 signs with different brands…
Now the problem comes: How do I organise this on Makerworld so that it still is easy to find your brand between all the rest and not to clutter Makerworld with 65 different uploands that are almost the same?
Do I
1: Upload all models in 1 big print profile and have you search all the plates to find your brand?
2: Upload all the .stl’s to 1 model and have 65 different print profiles?
3: Upload all models seperately wit their onw print profiles?
Another option could have been:
Using only one Tempalte and give the ability to write the Brand Name using BL Studio.
This misses the mobile users thought.
Yes I had considered this option, but I run in to problems since brand names have very different lengths. It will be hard to edit the names to make it look good. In sing maker I had more tools to get this right.
Unfortunately, my battle here against the bots is still ongoing because I only ever get generic, inappropriate answers - but:
One of my print profiles was deleted because it allegedly didn’t contain a real-world 3D print picture (which isn’t true, but never mind now) and got 122 points deducted for it (which of course had nothing to do with the fact that I wanted to redeem a 40,- giftcard two days before Black Friday deal end).
So just a nicely meant hint:
All your print profiles could run into a similar danger there
But I don’t know if that no longer applies when you put so many profiles online …
I understand your point. In my defence I have printed the Volkswagen print profile and that is 99% the same as all the others.
If the Volkswagen print profile prints good all the others also print good. It is not a very complicated print anyway.
I hope they are a little leniant on this issue… I think anyone can understand I am not going to test print all 67 print profiles… Certainly not when they are all almost the same.
Maybe @MakerWorld can make a note of this or correct me if I am wrong? Or @tanklet maybe?
Mate, for me, this is more than just understandable I just wanted to say it, because of course it’s a nice “point of attack” if you’re checked as soon as you want to redeem a gift card. This “automatic system” that’s apparently running might not be interested in the fact that it’s the same component 67 times.
I had 1 model with 1 print profile - both with the same real-world image. If you look for reasons to deduct points from someone, you will find them - regardless of whether they are correct or not
I have a suggestion that could proooobably help: print one with actuall “[BRAND NAME]” and have that photographed and on the image have a brand logo with arrow pointing to the “[BRAND NAME]” that it’ll be placed correctly + a preview of the actual brand name + plate picture… should be good then because generic one is printed and then there’s replacement there so it could be enough (unless someone is very keen on reporting and you get caught by report reviewer having a bad day)
Another possiility is to have suggest people printing them to DM you photos and you use their photos with credit (dunno the rules, but if there’s a consent and credit given it should be fine, right?)
Or ideally both ways implemented, however until you have all of the brands printed you’re at the mercy of the system.
