I am trying to make a hollow box with a cutout for a pipe. I need it to have a raised lip to keep rain from flowing in. If I print it upside down, it wants to make a whole sheet of supports just for this little lip. If I leave it right side up, the supports are even more extreme. How else can I print this?
I am a beginner, making this with Tinkercad. Printer is an A1 with PETG.
I would do some more design work to remove the support requirement. If you orient it with the largest surface on the bottom so the U is open on the top then it appears (cant see it all) that you just have the small overhang of the U that protrudes out of the box.
OK, so instead of that lip forming a 90 degree angle there make a chamfer so you get a 45.
