How do I select or convert painted sections into separate objects?

I am printing John Deere coasters, but to help with condensation, I’d like to make part of the logo/text as negative space that indents into the coaster. As shown in screenshot, is there a way to select the yellow colored part of the coaster so that I can make it negative and lower down into the coaster?

You can do this in Bambu Studio.

The original model can be split into 2 parts, the plate and the logo.
Select the object with the logo (Component3) and scale it down. Scale only down in the z direction.

See the attached file where I have scaled it down to 0.5 mm.

John Deere Coasters(2).3mf (1.6 MB)

Can you provide steps on how to do this with my existing objects? I have several that I’d like to do this for, but I don’t know how to split like you are saying. If I right-click the object, the “Split” option is grayed out. @user_3110569737

Can someone help me make the logos on these coasters separate objects so that they can be indented into the coaster as negative space? Files are in this dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/80zxqjis4f4vp7qv22657/AIRmDSREvTz4DSyNCqKd5ec?rlkey=zf4ditb0pab9aiuo74j4b2ks5&st=3whd0ivu&dl=0

The entire object is just one piece, so how do I split the yellow section into its own object?

If the yellow part is a seperate object: (if its not your cad, you can check via right click on it → split → to parts )

Duplicate/copypaste the yellow object. Set this new one’s z scale to 0.40 (or however low you want the groove). Change the part to “negative part” Move it on top.

I mocked it with primitives here. (and moved the “negative part” off to the side a bit for visual illustration – but you should have yours exactly aligned in XY to your logo)

If it is not a seperate object, you’re probably going to need to edit vertices in blender etc.

@Bullocks Unfortunately this was a .3mf file from someone else, and the object itself appears to not be capable of being split because the split option is grayed out. The yellow part is not a separate object, so I’m asking how to make it a separate object. It sounds like this can’t be done in Bambu Studio?

If Split is grayed out it means the model is one solid piece you need to use the Cut tool or edit the STL in CAD

hi there, i know this is old but it may help someone else.
Try converting the yellow logo into a svg and then import the svg into studio and then change it to a negative part (emboss), then simply adjust the depth you need. might need to be merged too
