i have a p1p with an ams2 but otherwise it’s completely stock with the latest firmware.
I’ve started having quality issues that have become worse over time even when re printing models that previously came out perfectly. it looks like under extrusion and that the extruder itself is the problem.
What steps should I take to determine if the extruder just needs some adjustment or if I’m better off buying a new one.
First, you need to distinguish between extruder and nozzle. If you’re replacing a whole extruder you’re doing it wrong, it’s a serviceable item that you can buy parts for, there is no adjustment, and nobody else makes extruders for Bambu printers.
Nozzles? Sure, there are aftermarket options there, but you don’t know that yours needs to be replaced at all.
It’s time to do some maintenance and service. Check and replace PTFE tube into the extruder, disassemble and clean your extruder gear, inspect for wear, and check your nozzle for clogs and perform cold pulls as required.
