I am confused about exactly how to post a profile vs a Model. Is it as simple as posting the 3mf Project rather than an STL or other raw format?
And, if you print something with different settings such as using a different filament (ie:PCTG), supports, walls or infill, should you post that new project as a “Profile”.
There really are very few instructions on exactly how to post your work into MakerWorld.
If I have missed those instructions, please provide a link so I can read them.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations and suggestions.
There are 2 different people on makerworld where i still dont know whats correct or maybe i dont know how its supposed to be. So basically you have people that make lets say a pen holder with 10 slots and the same pen holder extended with 15 pens holding and make it 2 different models. In my opinion its the same model different print profile. Here is a model i made a Quiver, 1 with the latches on the side and 1 with the latch on top of it. So basically its a complete new design but i still post it as a print profile. I want to battle the “spam” and the flooding of makerworld with the same designs 100 times by the same person. But hej thats just my opinion, also i still dont know if im wrong here or not. If im wrong im gonna remove all my secondary print profiles and just post them as a new model.
No, changes need to be meaningful, since Handy and Studio can both handle material changes easily, there’s no value for different materials.
In practice, for 99% of models, there really is only one optimal print profile - a part either needs strength or it doesn’t. It’s very uncommon that two very different profiles are ever needed.
