The flow blocker not seating on the right nozzle. I’ve tried everything, new flow blocker, new bracket (both v1 and v2), tried positioning the orange friction pads… really the only thing i didn’t replace was the vertical arm it actuates from. Even tried grinding down the magnet one one of my blockers as recommend in other posts. I’m at a loss and out of options.
Any ideas? I opened a ticket, but was wondering if anyone had any insights while I’m waiting on a response. It’s not getting stuck on the nozzle, same results with the nozzle removed. This makes it problematic for multi color printing as the filament oozes out causing quality issues. Thanks for your help.
Good point. I’ve added a few photos and here’s a video. I’m not getting any faults, the flow blocker just isn’t getting into position. Seems like it needs to move slightly over to the right in order for it to be affected by the magnet’s influence. Support just replied that they recommend replacing the lift motor - wondering if it’s that extensive or there’s an obvious fix that I’m missing.
If you ask me, there is something blocking the blocker to move further. Like maybe there is some debris blocking it.
It is possible to switch the nozzles manually when the printer is off by moving the base of the blocker left or right. Can you get it manually into the correct position that way?

Yes it will seat manually, but automatically it stops just short of the right nozzle. I’ve had some success with a carefully placed orange friction pad on the middle magnet, but this is a temporary fix at best. If I loosen the screws on the nozzle blocker bracket a bit allowing it to float, the flow blocker will switch fully. I’ve tried that before, and I just did it again to see if it still worked. Here’s a video of it switching properly with the bracket screws loose. You can see the bracket move since the screws are not tightened, and the movement permits the flow blocker to actuate fully.
Thanks guys, still struggling. After watching my latetest video, support stated that it is an installation issue. However, I have been unable to install the bracket in any way that would make it work. In the wiki video, the nozzle blocker is pulled over as the silver set screw is adjusted, but I can’t reproduce it. I have asked that if it is not the bracket causing the issue (I have several), then it might be that the screw bosses are deformed; therefore, the bracket doesn’t sit properly, causing the misalignment.
Updating… Bambu send me a replacement flow blocker and bracket - both of which I already have spare parts and tried. They really tried to help but unfortunately we didn’t get anywhere as they suggested there’s a problem with bracket installation and requested a video of me installing it. As the bracket and blocker are new (and properly installed), I suspect there’s a tolerance issue in the screw bosses causing the bracket to slightly misalign. That’s my only explanation if new parts didn’t fix it and I’ve tried multiple new parts. I’ve asked Bambu for a replacement complete toolhead as replacing the part the bracket mounts to would be complete surgery - they refused.
Through my research I did find a solution that is working. In the past I’ve used carefully placed orange friction pads (included from bambu) to help the flow blocker slide. I’ve since purchased a roll of kapton and placed a small piece of tape across the angled section of the bracket (around the middle magnet). The tape as opposed to the orange circles is easily to apply, larger, and adheres better. I’ve got dozens of prints without issue since and the tape appears to be resolving the friction issue that prevents the blocker from actuating.
So while this is a workaround and not a fix, it is a sustainable solution that I wanted to share for any others experiencing a similar issue. I’m about 7 months on my printer and this issue surfaced around month 2.
Certainly not, likely why they wanted to see a video of the installation process.
I suspect that this is a known issue, probably the reason why they had redesigned the bracket with an adjustment screw only the adjustment does nothing for me.
At least the kapton tape workaround has been sustainable, i guess i can live with that.
That was also my curiosity. Copilot gave me the Kapton tape idea and said it’s a known issue. I typically challenge AI, and Copilot indicated that this was a common fix in the 3D printer world, perhaps not isolated to bambu (I’m not familiar if other manufacturers have a similar flow blocker).
