For what ever reason I read PEI as PIE so I call it a pie plate. Am I supposed to say pee plate or pay plate ? I think I am going to order a DarkMoon G10 so I can quit fretting about this .![]()
I say it like P.E.I. Like an acronym.
/piː/ (Pee)
/iː/ (ee)
/aɪ/ (Eye)
As Skyripper said before, you call each letter individually.
Might as well be formal and refer to it as its full name and say Polyetherimide
I always find it interesting how people pronounce acronyms or others just say the letters though.
It’s pronounced like jiff.
I think if it were written P.E.I. I would probably say it that way. I would say P dot E dot I dot plate. ![]()
There is no English word “PEI”, so no English pronunciation. But there are Mandarin syllables that’d be spelled this way in English: pēi, péi, pěi, pèi.
If you were going to pronounce one of them, saying it like “pay” is correct.
The emphasis and pitch used differentiate the 4 syllables.
Hmm, I thought it was Prince Edward Island.![]()
Pronounce like this, don’t do this.
“pay“ -in my language

My supertack is John.
They’re best buds too.
