How do you spend your points?

Oh strange. Are they really gone from the catalog or just not available right now?
It seemed like a useful thing to have…

I’m hoping they refresh it. They are cool, but have been a little outdated with all the changes to the filament lineup. Was thinking about that with the discontinuation of the PETG Basic and the new PETG HF.

I wish Bambu would provide a roadmap perhaps, or some sort of vision, on what’s going on with the filaments and surrounding products. It feels a bit like whiplash every time they change things, remove things, add things, from the lineup.

I thought this was strange, so I looked.

I couldn’t find it in the U.K. store, despite being able to purchase the 99% discount for it from the points store.

I just bought all the PLA metals, not in the swatches, I am working through the PETG translucent range, also not in the swatches.

The PETG Basic range can’t be purchased anymore.

The new PETG HF would be a welcome addition.

I’m hoping at some point they add more of the kits to the Points Shop.

As for the swatches you didn’t miss much by not getting them. Quite a few of the filaments in it were discontinued.

I’ve been lucky in uploading a few designs that have been surprisingly popular so have amassed an even more surprising number of points. I used the first set to buy an A1 mini - which I love cause it’s so much quieter than my P1S I can use it when working from home and on calls.

Since then I’ve got my daughter an A1 mini, and combined with the sale a couple extra A1 minis that are going to a local SEN charity.

The filament swatches have been updated and are back in stock.

Honestly I have probably spent about 1/3 of my points buying filament to use to refine models I upload to makerworld or filling out colors and materials I didn’t have. I got one A1 mini for my nephew to get them into 3d printing. Maybe 1/4 I’ve used on spare parts and nozzles. Right now I’m mostly holding points until Bambu announces their next printer.

I’m probably going to get another A1 mini soon too and donate it to my kid’s school.

How long does the verification take? I tried using the points for gift cards for the 1st time a week ago, and haven’t heard anything yet.

Did you receive anything telling you there was a delay?

The normal process is:

  • Accrue sufficient points that you can redeem them for something in the points store
  • Choose something from the points store and press the redeem button
  • If there are no blocks on the account, you are provided with a voucher code or gift card number you can use in the store
  • If there is a block on the account, you should receive a system notification informing you and giving you an idea of how long it will be before you can redeem your points or a notice to say they wish to manually review your activity.

If there is a review, this is NOT a statement that you or your action are bad, simply that activity mirrors that which requires a human to verify all is good.

Many people go through this and sometimes more than once.

Thanks for the clarification. When I try redeem them last week, it states they need to verify my point history or something like that and it will take up to 7 days. I assumed a notification either via email or MakerWorld will be sent after verification is done. But they don’t send any, I redeemed the cards successfully just now.

my first redemption last month also triggered a check and this was resolved within 2 days. Then I was able to redeem my points and get giftcards

You could always reach out to the bambu team by opening a ticket

You should get a notification in the system notices on Makerworld. Looks like this:

It’ll persist so you can look now and see if it’s there.

Yes, I missed it somehow.

So what are you going to get, have you decided?

Swap for gift cards and get filaments or hardware? Maybe a discounted hardware kit?

I’m stocking up on ABS filaments during the bulk sale.

Me? I got an A1. Then 8 spools of refills. I do have a project that requires both the larger plate of the A1 and some hardware parts I already bought. It’s a bit complicated and (real) work has been busy lately, so I’m having a difficult time mustering the energy to finish it.
So I just make silly things like wiener mobile models instead lol.

Sounds like a plan.

I am saving up mine for another AMS for my second P1S that arrived earlier this week. That way both will have two units each.
