How important is the magnet on the back of the hot-end?

I go through quite a few hot-ends on my A1 !!!

I am wondering how important is the magnet on the back of the hot-end?

I thought it was only there for the filament sensor? Some are strong and some are weak but does this make any difference?

Thanks for your input on this

EDIT: I worded my reply wrong, but since we’re past it, I’ll just leave this message.

As far as I know that magnet is solely for location and positioning, not for sensors.

The magnet is purely used to hold the hotend assembly in place until it’s clipped in. I promise the actual machined heat transfer zone on the hotend is where all the heat is being introduced, it wouldn’t be very useful to heat up the heatsink.

@Jalan at most, it may be needed for a “nozzle is installed” sensor, but it serves no purpose beyond that.

But let’s talk about your hotend consumption. Why are you going through them so fast?
