I got my A1 mini in September and in November I lubricated all the axis again because it prompted me to and it had been two months. I got a prompt again today but I was wondering if I actually needed to do it because I have used it a lot less. In total I have 252 hours on it.
Probably not but I wound recommend you do. I have a P1S I got in November with 1000 hours since then, and I have never lubricated it.
If you get a prompt, that means the firmware has calculated it’s time to lubricate. It takes around 5 mins to lubricate all axes, so why not do it?
I thought it just gave a prompt every 2 months
It might have two metrics - every 2 months as a calendar maintenance step, but possibly also when it detects an issue.
It may not be the same thing but I was cleaning a little excess filament off the nozzle as the print bed was coming up and it touched my arm in the printer. After that it prompted to grease the z axis threads. I’m pretty sure it detected the extra effort and decided it needed lube.
