How to access Filament User Presets when loading external projects

I have an odd situation that I’m hoping there is an answer to. I have a set of my own defined Filament presets (User Presets) that are available when I first load Studio (running on MacOS). If I load someone else’s .3MF project file, it appears Studio uses the info in that .3MF to re-define filament options based on what was saved in that .3MF. When I do this, I lose access to all my presets. Why is this? Obviously users have their own filaments they use and may have user presets that they want access to for their own projects as well as any opened projects by others. Is there a setting some place where I can tell Studio to ALWAYS make my presets available in all loaded projects?

Another issue here (related to trying to use standard Bambu filament presets). If I decide I want to use a different standard Bambu filament preset for an externally loaded project, how can I do that? Currently my only filament options are those defined in the .3MF and I can find a way I can select a different Bambu profile. Any way to do this? If I go to add/remove filaments, I can select the standard filament(s) I want but it doesn’t add them to the existing project, it just adds them to my set of presets that I can’t access here.

The way I handle this now is to load one of my own projects which has all my presets. And then load the external .3MF and select IMPORT GEOMETRY ONLY so all I get are the parts without loading all the project’s associated preset definitions. This seems quirky to me. Why should I have to do this? And why doesn’t Studio ask the IMPORT PROJECT or GEOMETRY question at all times not only when an existing project is already loaded? Appreciate any guidance on this … Thanks.

And here, as you can see i dont use them

The first step when you load a Studio 3mf should be to check the printer. User filament presets are linked to a specific printer, so if the 3mf is for an A1 and your User filament presets are for an X1C, you will not be able to select them.

When you change the printer you will be asked to Transfer or Discard other settings. Look at them carefully. Usually you will want to Transfer them, to preserve wall loops, infill types, supports, etc. Select Discard if you want to start from scratch, just keeping the geometry.
