How to add multi-color details without offsets or engravings

Hi, I need some help. I’m creating a multi-color model and I’m having trouble figuring out how to do it. I’ll give an example on a simple model. I have a cube with a hole in it, and around that hole I want to have a ring in a different color.

What I thought of is making the cutout 0.1 mm smaller and then coloring it in the slicer – that works fine – but I’m looking for a way to do it without having to shrink anything, simply put, so the surface stays smooth.

The second thing I want is, for example, to put a Bambu logo on the cube, but again without having to model that logo in the slicer and make an engraving in the model. I don’t know how to do that. Could you please advise me?

Re your second point:

You think you dont want to cutout/engrave of the SVG, but you do. Use a 0.001mm cut, and use this infinitely-small-yet-different plane to help guide the paint tools.

Alternatively load the logo/svg as a part, and assign the part a filament. This can help control the depth the multicolor penetrates better than the paint tool’s automatic attempt.
