I am trying to print my figurines at an angle to prevent support damage at the front. I angled it back by 30 degrees this causes the point of contact to the bed to only be the heels of the figurine.
The heel is also surrounded by tiny supports and what happens as a result is during printed, the heel is eventually knocked off by the printer as it is not tightly attached to the plate support.
How can i get it to adhere better at these tiny angles? I looked at a brim but as the heel is surrounded by the supports, the brim doesn’t seem to affect the heel.
Yes. When you enable supports but before you start “painting”, you should be able to see a checkerboard type pattern in the places where supports would typically go. The area of the checkerboard represents BL calculation of the support<–>model interface.
By manipulating the Support Painting tool you can increase/decrease that checkerboard surface area to add/remove support.
Increasing the support does not impact the overall length of time to print the model. The model, walls, infill are the bulk of the time printing, NOT the support structure. Especially if you use default tree option for support.
Looks like you could angle him back much less, and this would decrease the support contacts necessary, still keep supports off the front, and move support to underneath the feet.
