Ok I used to download each upload just to check i had put everything correct and right file.
I stopped as I lost first giftcard (never told reason), so might been reason i don’t know.
I now use 3D Preview. which works well, but i can’t see things like layer height etc. so is there anyway to see these setting without downloading?
@makerworld can you imagine that this matter was brought in the forum about a year ago, creators wants to check their print profile if they have doubts or needed to double check things after getting low rating and complaints.
it should be a simple coding to not count the download if the uploader download his own, rather than flagged as cheating in download count.
makerworld, can you kindly reply so we have a sense of assurance that you are still reading user’s concerns.
Own profile downloads are not count as of today. Nor prints.
when was that announced ? can you please share where is it written?
I don’t think they never say anything about it. But I download all of the profiles I publish and from some time to day they didn’t count anymore.
I downloaded model i needed to check today and it counted.
after 5th download things don’t…i suppose safest thing download 5 other models before own.

you have no idea how makerworld is strict about download count cheating, the penalty is not small, and they can put you in the negative so that they make your profile worthless to work on.

i did mate, i am trying to explain to you that you should not put information that is Not based on an official information, especially thing that can lead other users to fall into penalties, i know your intention is to contribute and help in this post, but there are users that pass by and read that it is fine to download own print profiles, then when they want to redeem points they find out that their account is flagged for download count exploiting.
i don’t want you to misunderstand me, i am not picking a fight or just opposing your comment for no reason, my very 1st violation was because 1 download imagine it was 1 to check if the my uploaded profile had any issue, just because some A hole decided to give 1 star review stating with a comment big as a newspaper article with a wedding photo album of photos that the print profile was the issue, and that user ghosted me after admitting that it was an issue with his machine, even with that moderators did not remove his rating, no one is printing that design anymore just because of him XD.

All I can say is that I always download and print my profiles after uploading a new model for sanity check. They always was counted as a download and a print, but since two or three months ago they stopped counting. I have never been penalized for download ONCE any of my profiles.

since my 1st incident i am afraid to try, but surely it is a thing that should be done from makeworld side to let us check our work after uploading.
