How to control two models from one controller

I have tried everything including reading the instructions. I’m 78 and probably over my head here. But, I have several models and controllers and I can’t manage to get TWO to be switchable control from one remote.
I can make one work (when two are shown connected) but not the other.

Please help.

You need to use the PC version of the software. After creating a new project, add another device on the left side, then select the corresponding control method and upload the configuration, and it can start working

Thank you. I will try again. That is the method I used and it appeared to work. But only one model would respond, even though both were ‘recognized’.

You need to have both models and your remote turned on at the same time and you need to configure all 3 systems also at the same time, for the model switching via the stock MicroPython code to work.

Thank you. I’ll try again. The last attempt saw both models sitting upside down on my desk so I could operate them without them running away, and the remote, all turned on. The remote and both models appeared in the configuration screen. Both models would ‘recognize’. Both models had the ‘switched mode’ enabled and each had a different rocker switch position. But, only one would work. Fiddle with it and the other would work but only one.
I will keep trying. I don’t want to have a hundred remotes. :grin:

I am just learning and was wondering if it is possible to make the 3-way switch alter a control method on the same receiver? For example, position I operates a tracked vehicle in regular steering mode (joystick pushed right rotates the tank) while position II operates the tracked vehicle in skid steering mode (each joystick controls a track direction - forward on both sticks is drive straight).

Can you explain the part about the python code? I cannot find anything relating how to enable this in the code but i am a complete newbie with the code section

The execution of MicroPython is already enabled by default - this is also how the factory code runs. Install e.g. Arduino Lab for MicroPython software and hook up your Code module via USB to your computer to access the REPL console from your computer, with which you can see the files/folders on your Core module and do also changes to them.

I got everything to work. I actually had a hardware problem, one of the 3 pin wires included with the rocker switches (from the ultimate kit) is at fault. I swapped it out with the one from the 2nd rocker switch and everything worked. The only other issue i noticed tho is that i cant use the 2nd model rght at startup unless i turn on the first model.

I had found a comment on another forum. Start with the forklift/truck combo as a new project. Just modify from there with your models. This worked very easy for me.

Lol. I’m going thru this process now, without success, so far. First setup was done on the android app. First attempt was wrong and bricked things. Second attempt on another model only partially working before further attempts, which bricked that model. Research described fix as hardwire to computer and use that windows app. From there, a factory reset (unbricking) is necessary. But, computer could not recognize the models thru comport to usb connection. Further computer software patches required. Once downloading the patch, the model still was unrecognized and suggestion was to restart the computer. I went half way. Turned it off, unplugged everything and am now trying to find time to be frustrsted again. Wish me luck. Too many other prints in need of design/printing. “… and, I’m sure we’ll have some fun when it stops raining”. Google it.
