I have a .dwg file created in an old version of Autocad, I would like to make an .stl file, how can I do this? My version of Autocad does not have this capability.
Many on-line format converters that’ll do what you want. Convert3D.org is free and you don’t have to sign up to use it. But a Google search for “convert dwg stl” will give you multiple other choices.

A DWG file is a drawing so it cannot be converted as a mesh file, STL or otherwise
DWG format files can be 3D. It’s just not all that common. Back in the early days of CAD all the draftsmen and designers were transitioning from 2D paper to computer, they didn’t have 3D modeling skills yet, they just did the 2D thing on a computer instead of a drafting board. But DWG is an AutoCAD format, and AutoCAD could do 3D modeling, so DWGs can store that kind of data.

You’re right, my bad. Sorry. I use Solidworks and there’s a difference between exporting as a drawing (SLDDRW) and as a mesh (SLDPRT).
My SW version can import DWG so I suppose I can export it as STL if it’s indeed a 3D file if the OP wants to share his file.
