I am designing in Fusion 360 and use coloring there just for visual effects. This is to make it easier to see single parts in a multi-part design.
I am using 3MF format when pushing a project to BambuLab, because then I have all parts separate in BambuLab. Using STL or OBJ format just mixes all together and I have to manually separate them in BambuLab.
The new “Standard 3mf Import color” feature is actually annoying to me. The models are single color usually and I have to push cancel every time when I import a project into Bambu Studio. If I accidentally push OK all parts get “colored” (which makes no sense anyway IMHO) and I have to remove coloring on each single part manually.
I simply want to disable it, but how? I can’t find any settings for it in the preferences of Bambu Studio V2.5.0.66
In general, “Standard 3mf Import color” would make sense to me if it would actually assign a specific matching color spool from the AMS to the part instead of “coloring” it. Kind of weird.
You’re not alone, and there’s no way to disable that dialog right now. You already found the “cancel” workaround, so that as good as it gets at the moment. There are other threads here complaining about the issue as well. (Personally I’m still using v2.4 primarily and 2.5 only for testing.)
I wonder if BL devs have thought of adding the option to disable the dialog altogether, or better “do it like the old way.” Might have to work on a patch myself…
@MaxThreeD
Good to know I am not alone with this.
I searched here in the forum, but found only the incorrect color assignment thread. Didn’t search on Github. Thanks for the link.
I discovered this after I loaded an object I knew to be colored by bodies and the dialog box insisted on painting it all one color.
If after you hit either OK or CANCEL on the dialog box, if you then right click on the object just loaded and select “Reload from disk”, the object will reload without the dialog box or its effects.
