How to get a glossy/shiny surface

Hi all,

So I’m happy printer on my P1S, but I have a challenge and could use some advice.

I want to have a shiny/glossy surface on the bottom of my print. I’ve seen prints made on magnetic p flat sheets, like this: Magnetic P-FLAT Sheets – Kaizen 3D Prints
The shine on this is fantastic, but I don’t need holographic patterns on my print.

The PEI plate is fine for normal prints, but everything else on the market for as far as I can see, still has some kind of surface treatment.

So I was thinking of a glass plate, but it then I would need some kind of adhesive. And the build plate would be much higher, which could be troublesome for the printer?

My questions are:
What do you guys recommend as a build plate to get an absolute shiny surface?
If, for example I would go for glass, what do I need to change in my settings in Bambu studio?
I’ve printed a lot with PETG, but recently changed back to PLA, because it is easier and saves me time. What filament would you advice?

I look forward to your replies!

Cheers!

Like glass? You need a PEI film plate. Search Amazon for “smooth PEI bambu”.

yeah, I want the print to shine like a mirror! It has to reflect like crazy.
But if I look at smooth PEI on pictures online, I still see some kind of texture. that’s why I thought I ask around first.

You want one of the yellow film ones, they are glass smooth.

Do you mean something like this:
