How to improve delicate pattern print and sanding?

Hey everybody,

my most recent print is a keycap I designed for my keyboard. I wanted to incorporate my logo with my AMS, and that part worked out nicely.

I attached a photo of the print below; I printed with standard settings (maybe smaller layer height, don’t remember) and then sanded it by hand to get a smooth curvature on the top.

However, there are two things that I dislike:

  1. There seem to be scratches on the top, which resulted from the printer not extruding filament in these gaps. While the slicer shows that there should be material everywhere, I suspect this to be the case because of the complex shape of the logo requiring a convoluted extrusion path. However, I would assume there are options to mitigate this issue.
  2. The sanding made the top of the black key cap get a slightly lighter / milkier surface. I prefer the original black look.

Now my question: How to improve on these two things?

Thank you!

The sanding dust might not be completely cleaned off, try cleaning some more. Also, hit it with a LITTLE heat and it should clean up. I have used a small butane torch or heat gun to do this but it takes very little heat before the filament melts.
