Hi!, I would like to print a silica bead box at the bottom of this container. But I don’t know how to measure the shape considering all the curves.
I tried with tape but there no reference point. Tried with inserting paper and hat adapting, yet again curve twarted. Tried laser beasure, but because the container is transparent, it went through. And beside, the laser needs a reference surface which I don’t have.
Any halp is welcome.
Measure the outside of your container, cut out some cardboard to these dimensions, minus a few mm, test fit, cut, test fit until you’re happy.

How about getting some type of putty or air-dry clay. Smush it into the bottom of the container to get a mould of the inner form. Pull it out carefully without distorting it, measure with calipers. If you need it to fit the inner curvature, there are prints for corner gauges you could use on the mould.
Cardboard is the way to go IMO. I’m assuming you want to make like a false-floor on the bottom that has a bed/basement of silica beneath it. Cut two cardboard pieces - one that fits bottom, one that fits at the height you want the false floor to be. Trace those two objects into any number of cad programs/tinkercad/etc and join them together. Add some minor pillars and structure to make sure it can hold the weight of the 4-8kg of spool.

They make a spray to put on surfaces for 3d scanning. I think that there may also be an option that ios homemade involving IPA and talcum powder. Amazon search yields lots of sprays for this purpose. 3d scanner spray vanishing
