How to move manually?

Hi everyone. I’m replying to this topic becuase I am brand new here and cant quite navigate. Can you please help. I posted a topic yesterday and now cant even see where that post is. I was doing the initial and first calibatraion before my first print. I had mistakenly tried to remove what I thought was excess foam under the bottom plate. I now know that was only to removed after the fisrt calibartion . The calibration stalls now because of the lumpy foam. I cant raise the base manually (I dont know how to) and the screen function to lift the base is not available until calibration is complete. I cant call tech support - it only provides a bot. I took a ticket and did not hear back. As I sai, when I click on “My Posts” it said I have no activity but that is just not right. I uploaded it yesertay. I am on a bunch for forums for different devices and services but I have never had this type of problem with a forum.

I would be so greatful for any assistance.

I’m assuming you have a P series printer? First, unplug the printer. You can manually move the bed on the X/P/H series printer but tilting the printer up to access the bottom where you can grab the belt that links the 3 Z lead screws. Pulling on this belt should either raise or lower the bed.

For reference, here is the view of the belt from below the printer.

Hey Jon, firstly thanks so much. I see that belt now! I try to pull it but its seems well and truly stuck. Is there some other release mechanism. I used a bit of force to pull but it would not budge?

Did you unplug the printer?

Thanks Jon yes I did. Could it have anything to do with the Allan key screws holding the plate down inside?

If you have not removed the allen screws during the set up process, the bed won’t move. The set up process should have prompted you to remove the allen screws.

Jon and Turbo, thanks so much. There was the one screw at the back not removed. I’m an idiot and you guys are generous to me!~ CHeers
