How to reduce purge amount during filament loading and unloading?

To be clear I am not talking about the filament purged on change. I have that set to 0 already.

The X2D purges a significant amount of filament every time it “loads” the filament. How can I set this amount to 0?

I have already followed the steps here: Disable unloading and flushing to save filaments when printing the same material | Bambu Lab Wiki to disable unloading and flushing. But it doesn’t really fix the problem:

  1. If the aux extruder goes first, the printer purges filament after switching to the primary extruder (doesn’t do that if the primary extruder goes first).
  2. Aux extruder purges every time at the start.

I don’t care if it negatively impacts print quality, I just want to eliminate this waste. Thank you!

Not at my laptop atm, but you should find similar commands in the “Filament change g-code” on the same tab as the “Machine end g-code”.

If you mean the “Load” buttons on the pad of the device, those are executing macros on the closed-source firmware, you won’t be able to alter that behavior.

I was tinkering with the gcodes for filament change and disabled the AMS macro. So it still did the cut, unload, load, but it did not do the purge & wipe. I ended up stopping trying, the macro does more than just purge and wipe. It heats and cools the nozzle and extrudes faster slower to make the filament ball up. Along with the poop chut dance and wiping.

I may come back to it, but I ended getting the track switch and I always set my purge volumes to zero. I consider this a flaw/bug because with purge volume and the AMS’s macro it’s double the amount of waste. I wish I could set the flush volumes to default to 0 for when I forget though.
