How to solve overshoot

  • Detailed description of the problem
I am printing mouthpieces and other parts for musical instruments. With the same filament and settings as before the prints show overshoot in the horizontal direction. When I print a logo in het parts it shows some kind of echo as if the printer head vibrates after moving in a steep angel.

  • Printer model used
    The P1S.

  • Slicer settings used
I use standard settings but decreased the speed of the outer layer. However I think that I should not do that. A week ago there was no problem with the same settings and filament. So I think there is some kind of mechanical problem or unexpected change in the settings or software.

  • Type of filament used
    Esun PLA

My luck with consistent embossing is that there is no consistency. You have to work every example out on its own. I put my ains initials on the things i make for him because they are fairly popular and get snatched. I have used exactly the same image of his initials on every item. Settings are always a shoot from the hip guess.

Past that, good on ya printing mouth pieces.i have lost my sax mouthpiece a good dozen times. Always while traveling so no clue where to buy another one … never thought of that. Be careful these plastics are not food grade, and most of them are probably not good to put in your mouth.

That said i will post what usually works for me. I stile the process from Mt Makers youtube channel.

Well that and if the space is available i just use my laser to etch it in. It is amazingly effective.

Your 1st photo looks like something called RINGING.

You should check the XY belt tension, and redo your input shaping calibration.

thanks for your reaction.
I checked the belt tension and performed this: Belt tensioning procedure | Bambu Lab Wiki
and then started the calibration. But the effect is still there.
