I have been having fantastic results for supports when using PETG as an interface material for a PLA model and even better, the other way around (I can really recommend ‘marble/mineral’ type PLA as support interface material for PETG models).
The following problem is however not PETG/PLA specific, the same happens when using Support W (for PLA models) or Support G for PAHT, PA adn PET (and that’s where this issue goes from annoying to really expensive):
The problem I have is that when attempting this method on more complex models, Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer both include the interface material INTO the support structures (both normal and tree). Flush into supports is disabled (for this very reason) and prime tower or no prime tower makes no difference.
In effect this causes a very easily seperated layer in the support structure (as the method intends for the MODEL).
This inevitably causes structural weakness to the supports very often resulting in support collapse and print failure.
Is there a way to stop this behaviour?
