I can’t believe I’m missing how to do this, but all I’m trying to do is see what the actual filament color and type (matte, basic, etc) actually is than it wants you to use for the print file.
In both Studio and Handy I cannot find any simple way to select anything and have it tell me the ACTUAL color that it is wanting me to put into the AMS.
It’s so frustrating to see a “red” and not be able to tell if it’s basic red, or matte dark red, or maroon. Or to see a wood filament and not know what actual specific wood one it is. Or even black basic vs matte charcoal.
How in the world can I see the actual color and name of filaments that it wants in the build file?
I don’t think there’s a way and Bambu Handy, but in Bambu Studio you can see what filament the creator had loaded when they created the print profile on the Prepare tab. We usually sync filament right away and lose that information, but until you do sync, it’s there.
Thank you. I see what you’re seeing in Studio but I’m still missing where it says what the filament colors actually are, as there are a ton of possibilities all close to most of each color.
It needs to tell us specifically when the mouse hovers or with a click or a pop out, to say, for example, “1: Beige”, “2: Jade White”, “3: Dark Red”, “4: Mocha”. Or whatever they are since it leaves a lot of guessing on colors where there are 3 or 4 shades right around it, and then color onscreen doesn’t always even represent it than well. Can’t imagine for colorblind folks to not have any reference.
To take it a step farther, it should also give the verbal names or color codes for what is in the AMS or whatever you might change a filament for a part of a print over to. Say you have dark red, maroon red and basic red in your AMS and forget what numbers they are in, it’s tough to tell what is what when loads up three “red” looking squares when you sync it, but you know you want a specific one for a specific part of the print in the slicer.
As long as it’s a current Bambu colour you can click on the coloured box in studio and it shows the colour selector for the filament type. it shows the current selected colour with it’s name.
I do find some models have bambu filaments listed yet the colour isn’t matched to an available one. I’m guessing maybe they’ve changed the colour codes at some point.
When I download a model especially a multicoloured one that has non bambu filaments, and I want to get the best match I clone the model in studio and add new filaments to the list then try to find the best match size by side
