I don’t understand how to fix this (see attached image).
I have had success importing an STL file and splitting it. I rotated both halves to optimize the finish.
Then I imported an SVG file (Hall text 2) and had no issues elevating it 25+mm into position above the hotplate. Good so far.
Here’s the problem, no matter how I import other SVG files (note Hall LOGO) they do not load like the SVG Hall text 2 file did. It can not be lifted above the hotplate.
I noticed The Marie’s Hall.STL file and Hall text 2 have different symbols and the STL and Hall LOGO have the same symbol. I assume I need to get Hall LOGO with the same symbol as Hall text 2 but I don’t understand how to do that.
What do the symbols mean and suggestions how to get the other files up off the PEI and into their locations?
Select both the text object and the (left) housing object, then right click the selection and choose “Assemble” (edit: see bottom edit)
They’ll now be an object, that contains the other objects.
Without that, each individual thing on the plate is subject to the “auto z gravity” or whatever they call the feature that puts an-edge-physically-on-the-plate. Now, the “2 object” object is only gonna get slammed to Z 0 if BOTH dont touch the plate.
Symbols are for a 3d object and an SVG line-art. If you understand kinda how an STL file is just a big list of how to define triangles in 3d space, SVG is just a big list of how to define lines in 2d space, it’s nice that slicers are starting to support them natively.
Edit: I misread your current object hierarchy. You already have an “assembly” (just a set of objects that moves and is configured together) named “Maries hall stl B”. It has the stl, and the hall text2 on it. You need to add that object named HALL LOGO to that assembly.
