I just fell off the truck and have a printing question

What is the lowest wall height possible from a 0.4 nozzle, and why? Thank you

I think, a good rule of thumb is to stay within 1/4 to 3/4 the nozzle size for best performance. For a 0,4mm nozzle that should translate to … errr… 0,1 to 0,3mm layer height! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I don’t remember who stated that. Could have been Stefan from CNC Kitchen or Adam from Vector 3D.

Smaller is possible too, but I think it just doesn’t make much sense and will probably start to look worse instead of better.

Thanks! I appreciate it, and since posting my question I learned that BStudio limits your wall height to 0.9mm.

Are you talking about “wall height” or layer height. A .4mm nozzle can lay down a layer as thin as .08mm or as thick as .28mm. I get good models using the standard .12mm. The tube insert I posted the other day was printed at .12mm layer height.

Wall height, layer height. How are they different?
