I... like these recent changes

You can complain all you want but I don’t see a world where Bambu reverts course on the “adjustments” they have made to rewards for models over 1k downloads. Either learn to live with it or put your energy into a different platform.

That’s not the case, If BL had taken some of rewards that a designer has earned, either points or gift cards, and gave them to other designers, the complaint would have been valid.

In this case, MW decides to use their money a different way. They decide to from now on give less to some models that have been getting “too much” (in their view) while give more to some others that have been getting “very little” to balane things out a bit. Until the money has been given out, it’s still MW’s money, in their own bank account, and they can do whatever they want with it.

One cannot be robbed of things that one has not earned.

Actually the bottom line is that this is effectively what happens to models that have reached a certain number of downloads.

Here’s an example based on 100 downloads in a 1 week period.

Previously:

100 downloads = 100 points.

Now:

100 downloads = 30 points.

Where did the 70 points go? They are passed around as boosts handed out by everyone. MakerWorld has said this themselves, just not as directly. Because if you look at the bottom line and say it directly, it doesn’t sound good.

It can be looked at as the points not being awarded. It can also be looked at as points as being awarded and then removed to pay for the boosts.

In either case, the outcome and bottom line is exactly the same.

100 downloads still happened, but 70 of those points are not in the bank when previously they would have been and they are passed around as boosts (and some vanish and expire).

One should earn their own points instead of having points taken/diverted from others.

These points have not been earned. They have not gone into one’s account yet.

They would have been earned, if MW decided to continue with the old way of awarding points. But MW is not giving out their money the old way.

You perfectly have to right to find this unfair but bbl doesn’t owe us anything and it’s not like we were not aware that could happen at any time. And can still happening.

Yeah, and I spelled that out for you already in my post - there are two ways to look at it, and the outcome is the same.

The bottom line, when comparing 2 weeks ago to today, is that there are 70% less points for the same download count, and those 70 points are being passed around as boosts.

I haven’t seen anyone debating the notice that everyone has already seen.

The discussion is about the changes and how they effect things.

Dude! Come on… we are all affected by this. We don’t make the rules. If bbl decides to do things like this this is their right. That’s all. And yes the Goldrush was fun but it’s over

You have models that are currently receiving 70% less points through the new 0.3x multiplier?

There are no two ways to look at it. There is only one way: when we upload our models to MW, we agree to the TOS. Everything about the rewards can be changed, or even entrely go away. We agreed to that.

The complaint about losing 70% would have been valid if, and only if, MW had promised to always provide the rewards the same old way that you showed.

I do. and is affected in a big way. But I agreed to the TOS. There isn’t anything “unfair” about MW deciding to use THEIR money differently from now on.

I have to check for specific models to be sure. But yes I earn way less points now. At minimum 50% less on the total

Sure there are.

It’s a comparison between past and present which looks at how points are handled, which I’ve illustrated for you.

If you’re not able to see it, that’s ok. Just wanted the info out there for MW and others to consider.

Ok, but that’s not what I was asking about.

I asked:

It’s a simple yes or no question.

Great bro - nobody is debating the TOS.

In fact after checking the answer is a simple yes.

The only way to have the new 0.3x multiplier applied to a model is if it has over 1K.

Can you link to your model showing this 0.3x multiplier is applied to you?

Are you for real? What are you trying to prove anyway?
I show mine if you show yours first ^^

I’m not trying to prove anything. At least not anymore - you took care of that with no link in your reply.

Anyways, we’ll see how it goes. I’m guessing MW will make some tweaks along the way, and I think it’s important to get different viewpoints into the forums for them to consider.
