The floating damper feet have been tested and optimized. Results clearly show that the specially tuned floating damper feet deliver superior vibration isolation.

So I saw the Original in all of my early prints with ‘Seam: Aligned” setting (Bambu A1). I already knew it was a harmonics vibrations issue. To counter it, I put the printer on the following:
From Bottom to top:

  1. Open Cell Foam Insulation.
  2. Close Cell Foam
  3. Ceramic Tiles
  4. Non Skid Drawer Liner

This eliminated the bulk of the vibration and got me to the “Floating” print quality. The idea that your going to use something that does NOT dampen the vibration seems counter intuitive to me. I mean, the vibration is coming from the printer, not outside forces. to counter that, they do use vibration calibrations, but that only will get about 80% (at a guess) of the vibrations. to eliminate it entirely, you would need to either bolt the printer to a concreate foundation, or something…. The kinetic energy of the heatbed unit and build plate (1.32 kg + the build plate ~ 0.32 kg) with and acceleration of ~3,000 mm/s to ~ 5,000 mm/s that creates that’s 7.38 to 20.5 Joules… Uhm A golf ball at 40 to 67 mph. Not a lot until you consider the entire A1 unity weighs 18 pounds. If the bed where 2” higher you would have a hurdy gurdy.

Edit: All of this is assuming a A1 Printer. So.. Yah.

Yes, the claim that the quality change is the result of 2 printers interfering with each other.

OK. I guess it’s up to individual interpretation. I took it as a simple statement that reducing vibration can give a better print.

Not sure there is much room for interpretation, they are literally saying that it is a result of coupling one printer to another.

I can’t know for 100% certain that this didn’t happen, but it’s so ridiculously unlikely that these feet have been “tuned with precise resonance frequency” that I’d be pretty comfortable in calling them a liar here too.

I really don’t have any problem with their claim. If you have 2 identical devices on a contiguous surface but not touching each other that are producing the same thing and that product has the potential to be impacted by vibration with one device using vibration isolation and the other not there can be a difference in the products produced.

Whether you can see or feel the difference or someone cares about the difference or what the amount of difference is, those are different questions.

Do you think 2 printers interfering with each other would produce the results in the photo?

I think any test can pretty much be set up to show what results you want. Are they actually photos?
