Why I love PETG CF! It just looks and comes off so clean! Though I have much love for ABS,I will always love CF!
What other materials have you guys found that end up with the nice, matte finish?

Hmm… I can’t think of a model to try and test. Have a link to share? I’d love to see what it does… But that stuff for me is like a brick! Pain in the a’% sometimes to come off the plate…

When you say not very strong, is it brittle or cracking on the layer lines? I ask because I tried a CF filament a year ago and that was the weakest, most brittle filament I ever used. I forget the brand, it wasnt cheap either.

Did you thoroughly dry at the correct temperature? What you’re describing tends to be an issue related to improper drying.
PETG-CF is truly some good stuff
Tinmorry makes a really affordable variant that is maybe leaning too much into stiff, but otherwise near perfection and so far, 100% always came dry and in mylar.
As others suggested, ABS-GF and ASA-GF are great.
Also, ASA-CF… For example, LDO’s is quite affordable and it prints great.
I have bought several rolls, in part because of your comments.

My first time trying it this weekend, love the finish - but damn it stuck fast to the textured plate - think it actually removed some of the finish taking it off, even after cooling 
Will order some glue and try it on the smooth PEI next time

But yeah, if you are referring to LDO’s filament… I’ve been using them since they released it … about a year or 1.5 ago and it’s been great so far. It’s quite stiff, works amazing as stabilizer and doesn’t smell pungent like Bambu ASA (goshdarn it, I swear, Bambu’s ASA is the smelliest ASA I’ve tried, like it was built by actual skunks)
