Out of the box, this printer is/was amazing. Being my third printer, this one (to me) was truly the Easy Button for everything I wanted to print. Unfortunately a few months later …this is not the case anymore.
I had an issue with some clear PETG that ended up becoming a blog. I tried my best to remove all of the melted filament and was mostly successful but I broke a few things along the way.
Added a new hardened nozzle and new rubber boot but…my machine has not been the same since that original incident. I can’t get prints to stick anymore and I have zero confidence in printing anything. Where as I never had a failed print before, it’s at a 70% failure rate. Not sure what to do…factory reset? I’ve tried several recalibrations etc…
Most of the time when prints don’t stick (on a Bambu printer) it’s because the build plate needs to be cleaned. Like REALLY cleaned. Take it to the sink and use dish soap. Scrub and rinse it good, then dry it with a lint free cloth. Don’t touch it in the build area during the process. The reason I added “on a Bambu printer” is because for the most part the z offset it taken care of for you on these printers but on other brands having a bad offset will often be the problem too.
Thanks for the reply. I hope it’s that simple…and you might be onto my problem. I’m using the other side of my build plate for a test print and so far it’s sticking. If the print is successful I’ll give the whole plate a thorough wash. Thanks again!
Could it be, your nozzle heating unit was also contaminated and the new nozzle don’t have a proper contact? This would lead to lower temperature on the nozzle, than measured and could explain adhesion problems. The contact surface should be clean silver metal. The nozzle should sit rock solid direct after insertion, even if the clamp isnt closed.
I use pla, petg from bambu lab, creality and some noname.
I started having adhesion problems after a week.
if I touch the plate with my hand, I scrub it with dish detergent (fary) and a plastic dish brush and wipe the water with a paper towel. I don’t use glue and everything is ok
Just something I have noticed. People think if they turn their plate over to use the other side it will be clean since they haven’t used it since last time they washed it. For me, no. This is naturally where the grease from my fingers will be when I have been using side A and when using side A, side B touches the printer bed which may also have oils left on from manufacture.
