I think I know why they added the hotend cooling fan

Loaded 90a in right nozzle. decided to use the top holder, unloaded, moved to top, went to reload the right nozzle and its clogged. Tried pla, still clogged. Seems that it melted pretty far up the throat. Bet the fan was added due to the heat creep on the new nozzles.

I also see why they are hard to unclog.

1 is silicone. cant torch the tip.
2 is some sort of wrap. Cant torch that.
3 is a plastic insert? cant heat an allen wrench

Probably not. I’ve printed many kilos of TPU and PEBA on my H2D without any issues, including running them through the AMS HT and PTFE tubes.

In my case, the only thing that killed the hotend cooling fan was the high chamber temperature during long prints. Nothing else appears to have contributed to the failure.

Might have to try their built in nozzle cold pull procedure under Toolbox. I haven’t tried it yet myself, but it’s a guided process. Though if the clog is up high enough, that’s probably not going to help.

It works on the H2D; just follow the instructions and be patient, as you may need to repeat the process a few times.

You might also want to check the extruder. If TPU, especially softer grades, encounters too much resistance or back pressure, it can curl up inside the extruder as well.

I see why they want 90a working on the left nozzle. That is a very fancy throwaway part.

I just had a regular hf nozzle fail internally on me over the weekend. They last a while but i don’t think I’d be brave enough to buy a smart hf nozzle.

Also mister random is right the machines cold pull is your best bet.

also, its not the extruder. I tried other filament also. The filament got too hot, too high in the nozzle

The crappy part is a cold pull wont work, if the new filament wont bond to the old.

Can see my induction heater I bought from Aliexpress coming in handy for when my printer arrives now!

I’m not sure if the link will work as I don’t know where you are from however this is it in the blue and silver case. They are all a much of a muchness. My only concern is that there is no power control as such, its on or off so may damage it if it gets too hot? Link below

So you mean the H2C is actually worse than the H2D?
Or was it more of an “oopsie” where you tried to load PLA straight after printing with a high-temperature filament into a still very warm extruder? I did that on my X1 Carbon once – loaded PLA about ten minutes after a high-temp run, and neither the extruder nor the nozzle was particularly impressed.

Early reviews are indicating the swanky new nozzles may be less recoverable from clogs.

But that’s excellent business for Bambu Lab, since they won’t replace nozzles – they’re classified as consumable parts in 3D printing. I also wonder why the flashy YouTubers never mention that; it’s fairly crucial information when you’re deciding whether to buy an expensive machine or not.

The printer can be the fastest in the world, be able to “fly a spaceship to Mars,” make coffee and do all sorts of tricks – but if it cannot be serviced easily, and constantly needs new parts, it quickly turns into a source of frustration and an expensive lesson instead.

I guess the heat creep is similar to the other nozzles.
I guess it’s more because it needs to get most heat out of the nozzle before it is parked.

Possibly a directed fan on the parked nozzle, or some mass in the parking station that can absorb some of the heat through conductivity might help here.

What happened exactly before it was clogged?
Did you switch off the printer?
Removed the nozzle from the tool head while still hot?

Fairness where due the first nozzle report was from a youtuber who got a review copy. I think it was 3d nerd or something.

Just clogged a brand new .6 induction nozzle. Same deal. Clogged while waiting to do its initial purge. Guess they should have made the left nozzle the fixed nozzle. The left barely works for 95a

Im just doing normal stuff. Nothing weird. Not my fault. Just looks like the new nozzles wont be be great for 90a or 85a. Makes sense because they planned on the induction nozzles being fed from ams units. I haven’t tried 95a in the right side yet. 95A in the left side sorta works. Doesnt clog atleast.

But does look like the printers are getting less tpu friendly with each new model. Atleast the H2D has that fixed nozzle. The H2C is in fact built around ams units. Probably the most profitable product bambu sells.

Sorry but is it a clog or a extruder jam or heat creep?

A clog caused by heat creep is my best guess. 2 nozzles. both after purging once and then sitting while the other nozzle purges. The purge looked good both times, but the clogged next time it goes to move the filament.

When I try to manually extrude afterwards, its just clicks… When I pull the filament out, after cutting, its not mangled or stuck. Try to extrude some harder filament, still jammed. New nozzle and repeat
