Idea: Compact H2C Mini for faster everyday multicolor prints (built on AMS)

In my opinion, it seems like you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the market desires and the cost implications to that.

You are asking for a whole new machine. What I am saying is that it will not be an X, P, or H since they all design the models based on the same frame. You have not been able to explain what the “intended scope” of this new machine is supposed to be. The H series is the size of a mini fridge, I would consider that optimized for a living space, it is not like we are talking about an Fortus 900 here.

The extruder architecture is where the main cost is. With a system like Vortek, intentional reduction means just not having more nozzles. Nozzles are a relatively cheap part, meaning that taking 2 away would not have a huge impact on the price.

You are asking for something that doesn’t make sense with the requirements that you have. You are claiming that 300x325 is workshop scale. But 300x300 isnt? I do not really think that the H2C is designed around production oriented scenarios.

Bambu didn’t design a bunch of wasted space in the H2C, so I don’t know where you think they’re going to find opportunities to make the unit smaller at essentially the same build plate size. Wouldn’t they have done that already if it was feasible?

Same with price - isn’t the idea to price products competitively and with profit margins built in already? How do they make it cheaper, maintain margins, but then also not cannibalize sales from the H2C?

You’re just taking random attributes and saying they should be “better” without understanding how they arrived at this point in the first place, and you’re not understanding the big picture and how these things impact it.

Apologies if already mentioned here or if I’m misreading, but I think one fundamental issue with the proposal is that a 4-nozzle Vortek isn’t going to be any faster at switching colors than a 6-nozzle one. It still has to retract the filament the same way each time, switch nozzles, heat, etc. To gain any speed advantages, one would need a multi-head printer with separate filament feed paths.
