Hi guys I already have an a1 mini(non combo) and I want an ams with it but I’m not sure if it’s more worth it to get another 3d printer with combo or just get an ams lite?
I also was wondering if it’s cheaper to buy the filament feeders and funnels and tubes and the cable and 3d print the rest of the ams unit?
Which one do I do the separate units or buy them all together?
Do you need or foresee yourself needing another printer? With that being said it’s difficult to get the AMS so I see why you’d consider it. If the answer is yes then go ahead unless you can wait til they’re back in stock.
No, not at all. Last time I figured the cost was above. That may have changed. If so good luck finding them all in stock.
Will you use and can you afford another machine. Do you see a use for 2 at this time or the next couple of months. IF no, forget it. If yes then roll on.

There are some pretty good deals on Bambu for printer-AMS combos. I myself got the P1S combo and it wasn’t even close to how much it costs for some other Bambu printers, and even then, if you have a higher budget, you could always get some of the bigger ones.

Have you considered making an AMS from a BMSU(370C)? It’s almost a ready-made solution for Series A and costs around $100, depending on the region.
What is a Bmcu and what does it stand for? I’m kind of new here sorry.
Its a chinese open source AMS that you DIY at a medium-to-advanced level of electronics assembly. It really isn’t any cheaper or better or faster, but it is smaller, and requires lots of bespoke tools.
