Started with a ender 3 v3… sold it to get bambu’s a1
Than sold the a1 for the x1c. Love the x1c!
Than i saw the new h2d and could not resist buying one …
But then started to read auround this forum and i have to admit , i am feeling really insecure about my purchase… so many bad comment about how bad it prints.
Love bambu’s machine cause they are easy to use , but this h2d seems to be different.
My printer is not here yet ( supposes to be here friday )
What are my option if its not up to what I expected?
Can i return it ? I cannot justify spending 3700$ canadian into something that will have less print quality than my x1c… id rather just buy another x1c with 2 ams 2 pro …
I have an a1, a1mini and an x1c. I just bought the h2d and unboxed it today, and I have to say, it’s pretty awesome. Just as someone else on this forum said, it’s makes the X1C look like a toy when sitting next to each other.
I printed an H2D poop shoot, and now I’m onto a multicolor print, 4 colors. Bambu Studio suggested I group 1 color on the left nozzle and 3 on the right, I did so (3 in the AMS on the right nozzle, 1 external spool holder to the left) and so far, the print looks great.
I think the machine is fine and you are going to be excited and happy you purchased it. Just be aware of quite a bit more power draw and the machine is quite a bit larger.
I was terrified to get mine beca Of everything I heard but it all worked out fine the printer prints awesome. I’ve had mine for a week and my hope was that it printed as at least as good as my awesome p1s. It prints even better! Unfortunately a little slower even on 2 color prints it is not faster than my P1S. In my experience the print has to have hundreds of color swaps for the H2D to be faster. That said it is an awesome machine though there is a lot of shipping problems and lemons out there. Mine did not arrive perfect and it took me days to discover a few issues with it including a pushed out left panel. Here is my Reddit post to sum up getting the H2D.
I’ll add my experiences. My H2D has been perfect out of the box, apart from some clicky feet which have been replaced. It prints really well, is much quieter than the X1C, the dual head helps with multicolour to a point where I actually do it now, previously I’d only bother with single colour. Overall I’m really happy with it.
The biggest problem is, I like it that much I keep spending money on it, 2 AMS pro 2’s and an AMS ht, lots of filament, 4 build plates and counting.
My H2D has worked flawlessly, so much so that when I post that on the negative threads they get mad at me. No issues that haven’t been my fault due to slicing or filament prep… The only thing you should worry about at this point is shipping, XYZ shipping company won’t handle it with care like you will.
Don’t worry, they’re great and better than the X1C plus it’s early days with the firmware so they will continue to pull away from the X1C as time goes on.
I have more than one and none of them have any issues and print identically.
I came from the X1C so have direct experience.
I did have to tweak my files to get better print quality than my X1C, just using the same files would output much worse results than my X1Cs which initially was very concerning as I thought that perhaps my H2D was defective (I only had one at this point).
But once I re-tweaked the files for my H2D, they do print noticeably better than my X1Cs were ever able to do. So, just be aware of this if you’re expecting to print the same files on the H2D that have already been tweaked for your X1C printer.
Keep in mind that forums are often where people come to report issues, troubleshoot, etc. The forums generally aren’t full of people “praising the product” because “it just works”. I’m a first time 3D printer owner. I did my research, and I purchased the H2D for my use case. I have been extremely satisified with my purchase. I have had no issues (slight of an annoying bug where my 3rd party filament will sometimes not show up in my AMS after being programmed) but otherwise, flawless prints and amazing quality. I think you will be happy with your purchase, but Bambu does have a 14 day return window so you do have some assurance there. Enjoy your new printer, I think you’ll find it’s awesome especially with two color prints (waste reduction is awesome here due to dual nozles).
I’m going to move to another house in a year or two so I kept the H2D packaging to keep it safe when I move. Sort of a pain to keep a large box around, but I’ll be happy I did so when it’s moving time!
I was working with a modded Ender 3 Pro for the longest time and made the jump straight to an H2D and I can say, while there have been some slight hiccups, I haven’t regretted that purchase one bit. It’s a great machine all-around. It doesn’t (yet) seem to have the same immediate ease of use I came to expect from all the hype around Bambu Lab printers (you’ll have to play with the settings sometimes for sure to get optimal prints at least right now), but again, I don’t regret the purchase one bit and I don’t think you will either.
Seriously DO NOT believe most of what you read here on this forum or all the YouTuber know it all’s!
The H2D is an excellent printer.
Am I a Bambu fanboy, absolutely not!
It is a hobbyist printer not an industrial printer so keep that in mind.
It prints as well or better than an X1C.
I just got mine Monday. I dont have the X1C (i was holding off for this one instead) but I have all the other machines. Like you I was super nervous as well because of the forum. I even started a thread asking for initial things to inspect and look out for when it arrived because I was hoping for the best but planning for the worst lol. I recorded my entire unboxing by steps and took pictures along the way to cover myself so I would suggest that just so you have it in your back pocket should you need to use it. Bottom corners of my box was a little banged up, but the machine itself was perfectly fine. After I set it up, before calibration I checked a few quality control things i’ve seen on the forum here like tightening some screws down on the printer head, looking for the nozzle wiper not properly seated and making sure all the bed screws were down flush. All of which were fine on my machine. Calibration went fine and I was off and printing. It is quieter then my other machines, I havent run any speed tests but I hear it isnt really faster for most use cases. I would imagine there still A LOT of fine tuning to come down from Bambu in firmware updates (as was the case for the X1C) to improve it and I feel like the print profiles need improved as well. I havent had any issues thus far, but I haven’t thrown anything crazy at it yet. It just feels like as of now theres much more potential that has yet to be ironed out. Reading the fourm though, the anxeity is real lol.
I had an X1C and upgraded to the H2D. I have zero complaints so far.
It arrived with no issues out of the box and has been performing very well so far.
My H2D arrived and has worked flawlessly outside of 1 or 2 user error/not properly prepared build plate/filament issues. I have been printing with it at least 8 hours a day since I’ve gotten it. It makes my Creality K1C look like a kids toy and it performs so much better, there is 0 ringing with the H2D and the K1C it seems impossible to fully eliminate.
I love the prints for my H2Ds and have been having a blast with them. I like them a lot better than my X1Cs!
I can’t promise you’ll get a perfect unit, but I don’t think you should feel as nervous. There’s a lot of people happily printing on their H2Ds. Talked to a number of friends that are excited about their units, and they’re just using them. Not on here fanboying like I might, haha.
I hope though that you get yours without issue, as I hope for everyone.
It’s a tough printer. I tossed the packaging. Accidentally dented my sister’s car with my H2D when trying to load it in.
My first unit did have a broken door handle though. I still haven’t got that sorted. It’s been a mostly non-issue though.
I would say everything but the tool head is perfect. The dual extruder system is under engineered in my opinion but the machine is priced fairly for what it is. There isn’t any competition in this price range worth looking at if you need dual extruder.
