For the sake of simplicity, let’s say I designed a ‘wall’ in a 3d CAD program, with a rectangular window cut out in it. I then created a block to fill that cut out.
When i import into Bambu Studio I want to print these two things with two materials (PLA for the wall, PETG for the cutout) so it will be perfect.
How can i do this?
I’m running into an issue when i ‘split into objects’ that the block wants to drop to the base plate in bambu studio and won’t remain in position.
Use “split into parts” as this will keep the support in the correct location. You can then assign the filament type to each part.
Alternatively another option is the split into objects but then merge them. This will allow you to re-position support into the correct location in Z.
A final option is to add the support part as a part by selecting the support part as the geometry. This is the hardest way to achieve what you are trying to do but it is still possible by moving it into place by using some location math.
