Hi. I have a large multipart model (Modeled in Fusion) and want to scale it to 1:50 for printing. When I import into Bambu (fia a 3fm file), it asks if I want it as one componenet or multiple, which is fine, I select Multiple. Bambu then says some parts of the model are too big, and asks if I want to scale them to fit the plate. I then get prompt for each component in the model. (there are about 30) I answer yes to all.
I then end up with my 30 components all scaled differently, and have to go and individually correct them to get them back to my 1:50 (2%) scale.
Is there any way of specifying when I load the model, to scale all items to a selected scale?
Did you try saying NO to the automatic scaling, select then all the components on plate and scale all together manually?
Yes, had tried that, but then the models all come in full size (7+m long) and seem to break Bambu. It cant display things, and some components come in with a scale of “-nan(ind” and a size of 9999.99 and wont let me change them.
You need to remember Bambu Studio is a slicer, not a CAD tool.
It slices what is given to print on a build plate.
You are throwing too much at it.
You need to scale something so large in a CAD package. Then use Bambu Studio.
Use the correct tool for the task it is designed to handle.
While Bambu Studio can perform scaling tasks, it is unreasonable to expect it to take something 50 times larger than expected and then hoping it will work without issues.
Thanks for the comment. I understand that, but thought that seing as Bambu can actually scale things, it would be handy to have the option of forcing all items to scale together, rather than scaling each individually to fit the plate, which in general is probably useless to anyone.
FYI, scaling within Fusion isnt realy an option, as I need things modeled full size to generate working drawings etc.
