I wanted to share my experience and a suggestion regarding the shipping of the new Bambulab H2S printers. While these models are very exciting, I’ve noticed—and I’m sure many of you have too—that the shipping fee of around €135 is quite high, and yet the printers very often arrive with broken glass during transit. This is frustrating for customers, especially given the premium price paid for shipping.
I think a potential solution could come from improving the packaging material. I would recommend that Bambulab consider contacting an italian company called Grifal, which specializes in high-performance and eco-friendly packaging. They produce a unique patented material called “Cartù”, made of corrugated cardboard with special cushioning properties. Unlike standard packaging, Cartù provides excellent shock absorption and impact resistance while remaining lightweight and 100% recyclable. It has already been used successfully in protecting fragile items during long-distance shipping, and I believe it could easily prevent the recurring issue of broken glass panels.
I’m posting this here in the forum because I think it’s valuable to share experiences directly with the community. Maybe other users have faced the same issue or already tried alternative protective solutions. Hopefully, if Bambulab sees consistent feedback from us, they might consider partnering with companies like Grifal to improve the packaging quality and ensure safer delivery for everyone.
What do you think? Has anyone else had damage to their H2D/H2S glass on arrival?
To which country does shipping cost €135? Here in Germany, it costs €70.
I can’t say anything negative.
The printer was extremely well packaged; the shipping company delivered it strapped to a wooden pallet and placed it in front of the front door by pallet truck. This meant it couldn’t tip over or be transported lying down.
The printer itself was very well protected in the packaging, with bubble wrap all around it, plenty of cardboard, and no direct contact with the outer packaging. The glass plate was wrapped separately.
Another advantage was that the sensitive laser head was sent separately by parcel service.
